Adam Smith joined Villanova in June 2020 as the Associate Program Director for the Villanova Initiative to Support Inclusiveness and Build Leaders (VISIBLE), and NSF ADVANCE-funded project. In this role, Adam supports the Department Chairs Peer Network, plans the annual Campus Leaders Workshop, and co-presents the Equitable Hiring Practicum. Prior to Villanova, Adam served as the Assistant Director for Leadership Programs at the University of Kansas School of Engineering, providing management and leadership education to several cohorts of undergraduate engineering student-leaders selected for a highly prestigious fellowship program. Adam holds a Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Science from the University of Kansas, a Master of Arts in Educational Administration (Student Affairs) from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and is currently a PhD Candidate in Social and Cultural Studies of Education at the University of Kansas. Adam’s research focus is on the experiences of queer students and development of queer identities in higher education.
