2024 VU Women in Tech
The 9th Villanova University Women in Tech Conference Saturday, January 27, 2024
We are excited to share that our 9th annual VU Women in Tech Conference was a great success! The event was held on January 27, 2024, with both in-person and virtual attendees. We were thrilled to welcome 160 attendees at the Inn as well as close to 50 virtual attendees. We are delighted to continue expanding our reach to a greater number of alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends of Villanova year-after-year.
The conference featured two keynote sessions that were both insightful and inspiring. Beth Mazzeo began the day with a presentation and fireside chat in which she shared her highly successful career working as a Chief Administrative Officer at Bloomberg LP. As a Villanova alumna, she provided great insights for the audience and emphasized the importance of establishing and managing an extensive network, maintaining curiosity and a desire for learning, and finding a sustainable work-life balance to maximize your potential. Rana el Kaliouby concluded the day with a presentation on emotional intelligence in the wake of emerging AI technology. She also shared her inspirational story of how she became an emotion AI pioneer and Deputy CEO, a machine-learning scientist, and a bestselling author. After the conference, in-person attendees had the chance to participate in a book signing with Rana el Kaliouby, author of Girl Decoded.
