Maria Sauer
Maria is a Vice President at BlackRock within the Legal and Compliance Division. In her role, she is responsible for advising and providing guidance across the Americas region pertaining to BlackRock’s Broker Dealer activities. Prior to joining BlackRock in September 2018, she worked at Goldman Sachs for 7 years, spending the majority of her time in Securities Division Compliance within the Global Compliance division. In this role, she advised and enforced regulatory and policy requirements to a variety of sales, trading, and strategist desks within the firm’s Securities Division; business areas included futures, commodities, interest rate products, repo, and cryptocurrency/digital assets.
Maria graduated from Villanova in 2012, with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. Outside of work, she serves as a member of the Young Professionals Committee of the Marty Lyons Foundation, an organization that grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses. She has been a volunteer for the foundation since 2002.
